Characteristics of the antitrypsin activity of human serum 1
نویسندگان
چکیده
SYNOPSIS The antitrypsin activity of human serum was studied as a function ofpH, preincubation of serum with trypsin, and the concentrations of substrate, trypsin, and serum. Maximal activity was observed between pH 8-0 and 8-3. Activity was enhanced by preincubation of serum with trypsin, and reduced by high concentrations of trypsin and substrate. Percentage inhibition was a sigmoid function of log serum concentration. Theoretically, this relationship is expected of a reversible enzyme inhibitor; reversibility was demonstrated by dilution of enzyme serum mixtures. Practically, this relationship limits accurate antitryptic activity assay to the 25-75% inhibition range.

Alpha-1 antitrypsin, retinol binding protein and keratin 10 alterations in patients with psoriasis vulgaris, a proteomic approach
Objective(s):Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that appears on the skin. Although psoriasis is clinically and histologically well characterized, its pathogenesis is unknown in detail. The aims of this study were to evaluate the proteome of psoriatic patients' sera and to compare them with those of normal healthy human to find valuable biomarkers. Materials and Methods: In a case-control study,...
متن کاملComparison The Activity Rate of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin in Obese with normal weight People
Background & Objective: Obesity is one of the most important global health priorities as far as it increases illnesses and disorders the life quality. Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (AAT) is the most abundant serum protease inhibitor and prevents tissue degradation through proteases. Hence, its defect or deficiency significantly increases the risk of various diseases. AAT may be involved in the developm...
متن کاملInterrelationships between the human alveolar macrophage and alpha-1-antitrypsin.
Alveolar macrophages lavaged from human lungs contain protease activity at an optimum pH of 3.0 and possibly a lesser peak of activity at pH 5.5. Protease activity measured at pH 4.1 is inhibited by purified alpha-1-antitrypsin. Fluorescent antibody studies of human alveolar macrophages showed that alpha-1-antitrypsin is present in normal alveolar macrophages. In addition, macrophages from a pa...

متن کاملSerum Alpha-1-antitrypsin Evaluation by Three Electrophoretic, Enzymatic and Immunodiffussion Methods
Abstract Background & Objective: Alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) is the major component of the human plasma alpha-1 globulin proteins and acts as a major inhibitor of proteolytic enzymes, particularly elastase. AAT deficiency is accompanied by lung, liver and other disorders, therefore, AAT is clinically important and its precise evaluation is diagnostically critical. In present study serum AAT was e...
